End of Year Social & Elections

Join us as we close out the year with an evening of connection, updates, and leadership transition at our Annual End of Year Social and Election Meeting.

Please note: The SPDDS Board Meeting will take place from 6:00 – 6:30 PM prior to the event.

Spouses and guests are welcome to attend.


Annual Election of Officers

During this event, we will conduct the official election of officers for the 2026–2027 term.

SPDDS members, please review the proposed slate of officers submitted by the South Plains District Nominating Committee. In accordance with Society requirements, this slate is distributed to the membership at least thirty (30) days prior to the Annual Election Meeting. Voting will take place during the May 14th event.

An Evening with TDA President Dr. Glen Hall (Member only event)

Join us for a special evening with Texas Dental Association President, Dr. Glen Hall, as he shares insights on the current state of dentistry and the critical role organized dentistry plays in advocating for our profession.

This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from TDA leadership, gain perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing dentistry today, and better understand how both the state association and our local society are working on your behalf—beyond the walls of your practice.

About the Speaker

Dr. Glen D. Hall is the current President of the Texas Dental Association and a retired private practitioner from Abilene, Texas.

A graduate of the University of Texas Dental School in Houston, Dr. Hall served three years in the United States Air Force before beginning his private practice career. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in organized dentistry at both the state and national levels.

Dr. Hall has served as a delegate and alternate delegate to both the TDA and ADA House of Delegates, chaired Dental Benefits Councils, and held leadership roles including Speaker of the House and parliamentarian for both organizations. He is also a Certified Professional Parliamentarian and has provided consulting services to numerous organizations.

Give Kids a Smile

Give Kids a Smile – Volunteer Event

February 21, 2026 • 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Join the South Plains District Dental Society for our annual Give Kids a Smile event! This community-focused day provides free dental screenings, oral health education, and fun activities for children — and we need the support of our local dental professionals to make it a success.

Volunteer as a Dentist

We’re looking for volunteer dentists to provide screenings throughout the event.
Choose a shift that works best for your schedule:

  • 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

  • Other (custom availability)
    If your schedule doesn’t fit the two-hour blocks, simply select “Other” when signing up and we’ll work with you.

Host a Booth

Dental offices that donate to the event will have the opportunity to host a booth.
This is a great way to:

  • Share oral health resources

  • Provide kid-friendly activities

  • Showcase your practice’s commitment to community care

A minimum $100 donation is required in order to host a booth. Please be sure to complete your donation after submitting your form for the booth.

3% Cover the Fee

Donate Without Attending

If you’re unable to volunteer at the event but still want to support, you may choose to make a donation without providing screenings or hosting a booth. Every contribution directly supports care and educational resources for the children we serve.
