MEDIATION

Peer Review

The South Plains District Dental Society members strive to provide the best possible oral health care services. However, sometimes services don’t go as expected. In those instances, the South Plains District Dental Society offers a free and strictly confidential mediation/peer review service to help resolve issues without the expense of a court case.

The first step is for the patient to contact us at spdds19@gmail.com, and our Executive Secretary will guide you through the initial steps.

Working with the Texas Dental Association (TDA), the South Plains District Dental Society assigns your case to members of the SPDDS Peer Review Committee for their review. Committee members are dentists volunteering their mediation and peer review services. They may ask to interview or examine the patient and talk with the dentist who provided treatment.

The entire process is free and strictly confidential. Dentists choose whether or not to participate. In most cases, the South Plains District Dental Society is able to resolve complaints to both parties' satisfaction.
